Barbara moved her teaching studio to For a Song and a Story in March 2008. She enjoys teaching ages 7 through adult. Lessons are available in 30, 45, and 60 minute increments. Instruction in theory and technique is included in the weekly lesson as the student progresses. Barbara specializes in teaching music reading skills to those individuals who “play by ear” and struggle to develop their reading skills. She also enjoys helping students acquire the skills necessary to enhance existing arrangements of pop, gospel, etc. Barbara has a thorough knowledge of the standard piano literature repertoire and through the years has successfully prepared students for college auditions as well as church music positions.
