Beginning with trumpet lessons at age ten David Wood has 27 years of music making experience. This includes involvement in every music ensemble available through out junior high and high school including concert, jazz, and marching bands as well as choir, show choir, all county and all area bands, choruses, and orchestras in his native Huntington, West Virginia.

David earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in education from Marshall University where he attended on full music and academic scholarships. During college David gained music theater experience performing in pit orchestras, had a stage role in a production of “1940’s Radio Hour,” and performed with the Marshall Arts Brass Ensemble. Following college David has instructed music in public and private schools in Kentucky and south western Ohio and has participated in church productions as an actor and vocalist.

Currently David is the Band Director at Chaminade Julienne Catholic High School in Dayton, Ohio where his students consistently earn top ratings at OMEA adjudicated events. He performs with the Fayette Community Band, the Clinton County Community Band, and has performed in pit orchestras for local high school musicals.


When not making music David enjoys spending time with his family, woodworking and DIY projects, as well as bicycling. David resides in the Wilmington area with his wife and sons and attends Southbrook Christian Church in Miamisburg.
